"How to Present Meet the Masters" Workshop
Meet the Masters Workshop

"It's the 'how to' for parents that kids can have fun at too"

This is a two-hour practical workshop teaching you how to conduct a Meet the Masters classroom presentation.

Meet the Masters volunteers commit to provide students with an outstanding supplemental fine arts education program.  This workshop will help you, as a Meet the Masters volunteer, to learn how to plan and conduct an effective and successful Meet the Masters Classroom Presentation.

At this workshop, you will learn:

lesson planning and preparation tips

grade-appropriate instructional strategies

student behavioral management techniques

materials planning and management

great “hands-on” project ideas

This instruction will help to make your presentations run smoothly, be memorable as well as educational, and most of all fun for your students and for you.

During the Workshop, you will see a demonstration, hear "tips and tricks" to keep your students' attentive and well-behaved.  You will receive guidance on how to make your discussions and hands-on projects grade-appropriate.  And you will have the opportunity to practice on a "sample class", as participants are encouraged to bring one or two K through 5th grade children to the workshop.

Lisa Wojcik has put together a great program based on her years of MTM presentation experience and Broward County School Board teacher training courses in Instructional Delivery, Classroom Procedures, and Behavioral Management.

If you have never participated in the Meet the Masters program before, this is a great way to get started.  And if you are experienced, it is a good opportunity to learn more details and different methods to add to your repertoire.

It promises to be an interesting and fun experience for adults and children too!

Hi MTM Volunteers!

The Workshop held on Saturday, October 27, 2007 was a success!  Adults and kids that attended really enjoyed the experience.  And so did I.

Here's a brief recap:
We had a detailed lecture portion on "How to...", a real-time run-through on how to use the website (thanks, Yasemine for the use of the computer!), a demonstration presentation (by me), and then all helped the kids to do two wonderful hands-on projects.  We did a cool Marc Chagall-inspired collage with colorful tissue paper and magazine cutouts.  And then we did the hugely popular Jackson Pollock Pizza, which the kids very quickly gobbled up to their delight!

If you missed the workshop / could not make that date / or reconsidered attending after reading the above recap, please use the input form below to let me know of your interest in attending this year's (2008-9) workshop.  Please enter a suggested date in the comment box, so I can get a consensus on a good date for all.

Thanks for your continued support and participation,
Lisa
